Do you want to prepare for climate change, but aren't sure where to start?
Are you interested in using climate projections in your work?
The University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership (MCAP) is hosting a series of workshops on how to implement climate adaptation strategies across various sectors and projects - as well as how to interpret and incorporate future climate data.
MNSG's Twin Ports Climate Conversations is collaborating with MCAP to offer the Foundations of Adaptation Leading Practices workshop in Duluth, Minnesota. This workshop teaches participants how to interpret climate data, the do's and don'ts of climate model data application, leading practices in adaptation, and how to make decisions under deep uncertainty.
Workshop topics will focus on climate issues relevant to the arrowhead region of Minnesota and on using the Minnesota Climate Mapping and Analysis Tool (MN CliMAT) to access locally relevant information. While primarily focused on Minnesota, MN CliMAT also includes projections and data for the majority of Wisconsin.
The Climate Adaptation Specialist Training (CAST) Program is for people looking to integrate future climate data into long-term planning. MCAP offers a series of workshops and online resources focused on leading practices in climate adaptation. Instruction includes methods for incorporating and applying future climate data into long-term decision-making, particularly in the context of climate adaptation and preparedness.
Foundations of Adaptation Leading Practices workshop is free for participants to attend, with workshop costs supported by funding from the State of Minnesota.
